World Cup 2026 Round of 32: LMS Picks for June 29 (Germany, Netherlands, Brazil)

Four Round of 32 matches today including Brazil vs Japan, Germany vs Paraguay, and Netherlands vs Morocco. Here are the LMS picks for each.

29 June 2026

Four matches. Four decisions. June 29 is the busiest day of the Round of 32 so far, with three games still to play following Canada's stoppage-time win over South Africa this morning. Here is how to think about each pick for Last Man Standing pools.

Brazil vs Japan (1pm ET, Houston)

Pick: Brazil

Japan are without Takefusa Kubo through injury. Brazil have Vinícius Jr in form. This is not a trap pick — it is just a very good team against a very good team that is missing its best player. Back Brazil with confidence.

The one reason to hold off: if you are deep into a pool and this is your last Brazil pick, consider whether there is a safer spend today and you can save Brazil for the quarter-finals. Germany vs Paraguay below may offer that option.

Germany vs Paraguay (4:30pm ET, Foxborough)

Pick: Germany

Paraguay qualified from a difficult group but have not shown the attacking quality to trouble Germany over 90 minutes. Germany's midfield has been outstanding at this tournament — strong pressing, efficient in transition. Paraguay will park the bus and hope for a mistake or a set piece.

Germany have not been beaten this tournament. Pick them here if you need to preserve a more glamorous option (Brazil, Argentina, Spain) for later rounds.

Netherlands vs Morocco (9pm ET, Guadalajara)

Pick: Netherlands

Morocco reached the Round of 32 as one of the stronger African sides in the tournament, finishing second in their group. But the Netherlands are playing their best football in years and are among the genuine contenders to go deep. Morocco will press high and look to exploit the Dutch's occasional defensive lapses, but the quality differential is significant enough to make this a reasonably safe pick.

Note: if Canada are still in your LMS pool and you have not used them, this result determines their last-16 opponent on 4 July. A Netherlands win makes Canada vs Netherlands — very difficult. A Morocco win makes Canada vs Morocco — much more interesting for the Canada-as-a-pick strategy.

The Canada vs South Africa result

If you woke up to find your Canada pick came good in the 92nd minute, congratulations. Eustáquio's strike was a brutal way for South Africa to exit but a deserved result for a Canada side that dominated without converting. Davies is now fit and available — but the Dutch or Moroccans await in the last 16, so recalibrate your remaining picks accordingly.
